L-3 Communications EITS Division, a Fortune 500 company, is the corporation’s enterprise IT solutions provider. L-3 EITS is CMMI Level 3 Certified and has a proven track record for providing secure, reliable and high-quality information systems support. L-3 EITS is experienced in providing information assurance as the primary provider to United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) and as a subcontractor to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) on the Information Assurance (I-ASSURE) contract.
Since 1996, L-3 EITS has led development and support of the incident response capability for one of the most critical DoD networks in the world—the Global Information Grid. L-3 EITS’s worldwide information assurance (IA) staff has been credentialed with formal certifications - over 85% of the personnel on the Task Order are DoDD 8570 compliant. L 3 EITS’s DISA support proves its ability to execute technical oversight over a geographically dispersed end-user base. L-3 EITS improved the Information Assurance (I-Assure) Team efficiency by 300 percent during the past 5 years and all deliverables were accepted on initial submission. L-3 EITS staff personnel were key members for planning and implementation of IA policy, strategy and operations. L-3 EITS also helped develop a comprehensive configuration management approach, disaster recovery and contingency plans, and the DoD IT Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP). L-3 EITS conducted architecture assessments globally to ensure optimization of all sensor operations. They monitored network perimeters for attacks, anomalous events and malicious activity; analyzed emerging threats; and developed and deployed new IDS signatures to 250+ global IA sensors. This database encapsulated intrusion detection data from multifaceted intrusion and security tools that included SNORT, JIDS, ArcSight, and ISS RealSecure. L-3 EITS operated and maintained ISS RealSecure, Site Protector, Cyberguard Firewall, and Cisco routers, which provided the ability to deter, detect, respond, and restore network operations. In addition, L-3 EITS assisted in mission assurance education, training, and security awareness demonstrating L-3 EITS’s ability to ensure compliance with security policies/procedures agency-wide. L-3 EITS’s IA outreach, awareness, and training experience is particularly useful to the US Navy in improving IA processes and procedures (e.g., ensuring system acceptability testing, configuration management, enhanced infrastructures—even capital planning and enterprise architecture) among all organizational levels.
