Symantec provides enterprise applications for data protection and availability to most Federal DoD and Civilian agencies and the world's largest banks. Symantec's Global Consulting group (over 1000 strong) supports our technology products as well as other vendor's applications. The consulting group functions as an Expert Advisor to Government and industry.
Symantec is in the unique position of knowing more about the Internet, its malware, the attackers, their modus operandi, and vulnerabilities in all operating systems, networks and host systems than any other organization. Over 25% of all internet email passes through Symantec filters, and 80% of all JTF-GNO IAVAs are generated from Symantec data. Our customers benefit from our ability to correlate data from more than 7,000 managed and/or monitored security services devices in 60 countries, 20,000+ DeepSight devices in 180 countries, and 120 million anti-virus systems around the world, allowing us to have the best understanding of the Internet threat posture at any time in any part of the world.
Symantec also produces sensor software and appliance devices. Symantec offers the Security Information Manager product that can correlate sensor and collector data from 1000's of endpoints and alert operators of an ensuing attack. Furthermore Symantec provides industry with advance database security products that can detect and trace insider attempts to access sensitive data.
